About Me

Hello and welcome.

I am Katie and I decided to re-train in psychotherapy and counselling as a second career. Like many therapists, what drew me to the sector was the experiences I had as a client myself, and wanting to help others as I had been helped.

I have experience working in the veterinary environment and have also worked in the charitable sector, working with clients who have been struggling with trauma, domestic abuse and other difficulties.

I have experience working both face to face and online, offering both online and in person sessions.

I feel so privileged to have played a part in my client's journeys and love the work I do.

I am a big believer that we must work hard on ourselves to be able to experience the small joys of life - so I am an avid reader, love nature and try to ensure I am immersed in the things that bring me peace.

I am part of the LGBTQIA+ community and work affirmatively with LGBTQIA+ people. This may not be your reason for seeking therapy, but you can work with me knowing I am a safe practitioner to be your whole self with.

I have a wonderful little dog called Martha who keeps me company and I am always keen to hear about your furry companions too.

I look forward to meeting you!

I am a member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and work within their strict ethical framework which you can read here

I hold insurance and am registered with the ICO in order to keep to GDPR guidelines.
